Having been involved in primary care education for several years we aim to provide the perfect environment for young doctors and medical students to gain a unique insight into general practice. All partners and staff play an active role in teaching and share a common enthusiasm for providing a bespoke educational experience.

Dr John S Heaton-Renshaw
With over 25 years experience in primary care, and over 5 years as a trainer, John is the senior trainer in the practice and has overall responsibility for GP Specialist training here at Southbroom. John has specialist training in mental health, minor surgery & drug rehabilitation services. His main areas of clinical interest are care of the elderly, general medicine and orthopaedics.
Dr Ian R Williams
With over 12 years experience of primary care, and having previously been responsible for Foundation year training (F2) and medical student teaching at the practice, Ian has recently been approved as a Trainer. He has specialist training and expertise in practice management, occupational health, forensic medicine and medical law. Ian's main areas of clinical interest are dermatology, ENT and cardiology.
Medical Student Tutors
Dr Rosie Lindon
Having been a partner at the Southbroom Surgery for over 13 years Rosie has played an active role in Medical Student & Registrar teaching. She is the Clinical Governance and staff lead for the practice and has a specialist interest in anaesthetics and equestrian medicine.
Dr Mark Thomas
Mark currently works full time as a GP Associate at the practice. His main areas of clinical interest lie in ENT, Minor Surgery and joint injections.
Dr Ben Ballentyne
Having recently qualified as a GP, Ben currently works full time as a GP Associate at the practice.
